on Sunday (Elementary)

Morning
Sunday mornings our children enjoy Sunday School during the 8:30 and 9:45 hours, and Children's Church during all worship hours.
Sunday School
Sunday School is available at 8:30 and 9:45. Children are in grade appropriate classrooms and will study
the Bible. We use a curriculum called Bible Teaching for Kids. This curriculum provides biblically accurate, age-suitable, and educationally sound Bible-learning experiences for boys and girls.
Utilizing the scriptural approach of precept upon precept, Bible Teaching for Kids equips parents and teachers to encourage children to develop a biblical worldview. The biblical worldview enables each child to internalize Bible truths and apply them to life. A three-year scope and sequence for babies through preteens insures a balanced approach to central Bible concepts, essential Bible skills, and foundational Bible stories. Biblical concept areas the children will study are God, Jesus, Bible, Creation, Family, Self, Community and World, Church, Salvation and the Holy Spirit.
Children's Church
Sunday morning Children’s Church is available at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00. Elementary grades, first through fifth, assemble in the chapel to worship and learn more about God and His word. This is a time when children will learn how to transition from Children’s Church to “BIG” Church when they enter the 6th grade.
I'm a Christian Now
I’m A Christian Now is a great children’s four-week class for Elementary children who have accepted Jesus as their Savior! The format beautifully helps children understand the basics of what it means to live a Christian life. This class includes discussion tips on all those “How-To” topics like: Becoming a Christian, Participating in Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, Being a Member of the Church, Following God with Actions like Developing a Quiet Time.

Evening
Sunday evenings are a special time of learning for our children and families. Children can be a part of our Worship KidStyle, enjoy a snack supper, and praise God in choir.
Worship KidStyle (during the school year)
Let kids worship...like kids! That's what Worship KidStyle is all about. Fun music videos with motions lift hearts and hands to God. Cool arts and crafts bring focus on the Creator. Attention-holding, life application videos tell stories kids can relate to!
Worship starts each Sunday evening at 5:00. A snack supper is provided at 6:00 for a minimal fee of $1.00. Upon finishing snack supper, the children set out for an exciting hour in Children's Choir.

Children's Choir
This is another time of fun and a learning experience with music for children in first through fifth grade. Children learn to sing from hymnals and how to praise God through song.
Bay Leaf's tradition is for this group to do a musical each year on the first Sunday night of May. In September and October the focus is on team building; November and December they prepare several Christmas songs and participate in the Christmas music and the annual Christmas pageant; January through April the focus is on preparing for the musical.
Musical concepts are taught throughout the year, but the main focus is on the spiritual growth of our children. Using music, we teach God’s Word and will.
The Choir year begins each fall on the Sunday after Labor Day and concludes on the third Sunday in May. They meet weekly from 6:25pm to 7:15pm in the main choir room. The music program at Bay Leaf is one your child is sure to love.
