Hurricane Helene Relief-How to help
Bay Leaf On Mission

Hurricane Helene Relief

Western North Carolina was hit hard by Hurricane Helene and many communities are devastated. We are working to send out a Disaster Relief Team as soon as possible but there are ways that you can help with right now!

Give

If you would like to donate financially to relief efforts, you can donate through Baptists on Mission (click here) or through Samaritan's Purse (click here).

Go

Bay Leaf's Disaster Relief Ministry will be organizing ongoing volunteer teams to meet the current needs of the area. Those needs will become available in the near future. If you would like to be added to the volunteer list to receive updates, please email Bailey Coffer (bcoffer@bayleaf.org).

In the meantime, if you would like to volunteer through partner organizations individually, you can sign up directly through Baptists on Mission or Samaritan's Purse.

Donate Tangible Items

As part of our ongoing relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina, we are organizing a special collection of winter clothing items.

Through Sunday, October 20, we will be accepting donations of the following items to help those in need:

  • Gently-used jackets and coats (all sizes)
  • Gently-used scarves, winter hats, and gloves
  • Thick socks
  • HotHands® warmers

Your contributions will make a big difference for families facing cold temperatures as they work to rebuild their lives.

Please bring your donations to the enclosed donation trailer parked at the side entrance anytime during the week or on Sunday morning or evening.

All items will be delivered to Calvary Baptist Church in Brevard, NC who remains a drop zone for the Brevard, Hendersonville, and Waynesville areas.

Pray

As you pray for Western North Carolina, here are somethings that you can be praying for:

  • Pray for all those experiencing the devasting impact of Hurricane Helene as they begin to recover from the destruction.
  • Pray for Baptists on Mission, Samaritan's Purse, and other relief organizations as they coordinate recovery efforts in the Western NC region, as well as the safety and stamina of volunteers as they serve the people in the region.
  • Pray for Christ to be glorified in all aspects of the work being done in Western NC and for people to be receptive to the gospel amid the devastation.

Thank you for your compassion and generosity.

Your willingness to help in this critical moment will make a difference in the lives of those suffering in our state.
