Romans 3:9-31

Righteousness Through Faith

For the past few weeks, we've been studying the human condition in light of God's righteousness. This week, we look toward the glorious truth that our righteousness comes by faith. Prepare to engage with this truth by reading the passage, listening to what we will be singing, and praying for God's help to receive it.

Lyrics

Praise to the Lord the Almighty
The King of creation
O my soul praise Him
For He is thy health and salvation
All ye who hear
Now to His temple draw near
Join me in glad adoration

Praise to the Lord who o'er all things
So wondrously reigneth
Shelters thee under His wings
Yes so gently sustaineth
Hast thou not seen
How all thy longings have been
Granted in what He ordaineth

Praise to the Lord who doth prosper
Thy work and defend thee
Surely His goodness and mercy here
Daily attend thee
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do
If with His love He befriend thee

Oh the songs that we sing
And the honor we bring
We pour out on our King without measure
Lord we worship Your name
Giving glory and thanks
We will praise You forever

Praise to the Lord
O let all that is in me adore Him
All that hath life and breath
Come now with praises before Him
Let the Amen sound from His people again
Gladly forever adore Him

Oh the songs that we sing
And the honor we bring
We pour out on our King without measure
Lord we worship Your name
Giving glory and thanks
We will praise You forever

Lyrics

What love could remember
No wrongs we have done
Omniscient all knowing
He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea
Without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many
His mercy is more

Praise the Lord
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness
New every morn
Our sins they are many
His mercy is more

What patience would wait
As we constantly roam
What Father so tender
Is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest
The vilest the poor
Our sins they are many
His mercy is more

Praise the Lord
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness
New every morn
Our sins they are many
His mercy is more

What riches of kindness
He lavished on us
His blood was the payment
His life was the cost
We stood 'neath a debt
We could never afford
Our sins they are many
His mercy is more

Praise the Lord
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness
New every morn
Our sins they are many
His mercy is more

Yet Not I but Through Christ in Me

Lyrics

What gift of grace
Is Jesus my redeemer
There is no more
For Heaven now to give
He is my joy
My righteousness and freedom
My steadfast love
My deep and boundless peace

To this I hold
My hope is only Jesus
For my life
Is wholly bound to His
Oh how strange and divine
I can sing all is mine
Yet not I but through Christ in me

The night is dark
But I am not forsaken
For by my side
The Saviour He will stay
I labour on
In weakness and rejoicing
For in my need
His power is displayed

To this I hold
My Shepherd will defend me
Through the deepest valley
He will lead
Oh the night has been won
And I shall overcome
Yet not I but through Christ in me

No fate I dread
I know I am forgiven
The future sure
The price it has been paid
For Jesus bled
And suffered for my pardon
And He was raised
To overthrow the grave

To this I hold
My sin has been defeated
Jesus now
And ever is my plea
Oh the chains are released
I can sing I am free
Yet not I but through Christ in me

With every breath
I long to follow Jesus
For He has said
That He will bring me home
And day by day
I know He will renew me
Until I stand with joy
before the throne

To this I hold
My hope is only Jesus
All the glory
Evermore to Him
When the race is complete
Still my lips shall repeat
Yet not I but through Christ in me

When the race is complete
Still my lips shall repeat
Yet not I but through Christ in me

Take My Life and Let It Be

Lyrics

Take my life, and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise,
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my voice, and let me sing
Always, only, for my King;
Take my lips, and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

Take my love; my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure-store.
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

Take my will, and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart; it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.
